Governor Doyle will never do it

Monday, Dustin Block at Racine Post started a micro-mini drumbeat, pointing out a fundraiser held by Mr. Spitzer for our own Governor Doyle in November, 2006. Fred Dooley at Real Debate Wisconsin picked up the sticks a couple of hours later and asked when Governor Doyle would return the Spitzer cash (long since spent, that’s for sure).

(Mark Rahmlow, in a comment on a FoxPolitics post this week, mentions the Doyle-Abramoff connection in passing...)

And yesterday, the Majority Accountability Project continued its own east coast drumbeat, sharing more news of NY pols who have returned now-tainted Spitzer cash – and those that haven’t.

Count our own governor in the column of those that haven’t.

If Spitzer were a Republican I don't think you'd be demanding that Republican Governor of Wisconsin should return the money. Please think to yourself: "if this were a Republican would I be making the same criticism?" Be realistic.

Well, it's not a matter of Republican or Democrat. It's a matter of how deeply the guy is in to the mob - and what was going on in the fall of 2006. More importantly I think is the much more direct connection between the Troha crowd and Doyle money. Could you look yourself in the mirror if you kept those dollars?

While I'm not excusing in any way what Spitzer did to his family, I don't understand what that has to do with money he gave to Doyle. Can you explain how what Spitzer did tainted this money?

See earlier comment; I agree, no impact if at the time, Mr. Spitzer was not involved with the mob or other illegal activity. Again, the more important consideration is illegal campaign 'packaged' contributions received by Mr. Doyle from Mr. Troha, his associates and his family members. $200,000 worth. These dollars must be returned.
