How much of a raise did you get last year?
Raises of 4.5% for 2007-08 and 3.8% for 2008-09 are considered "very fair, reasonable and very modest" according to Don Hietpas, AASD CFO. The union's head negotiator, Corey Otis, is quoted by the Post-Crescent as having said:
"With the economy basically grinding to a halt and a referendum coming, both sides looked at each other across the table and said we have to work together to climb out of this."
I have to calculate how the dollars needed for these raises compare to the extra operating dollars being requested by the referendum to be voted on February 17.
So seriously, what was your raise in 2008? What is it projected to be in 2009? Anywhere close to 4.5% and another 3.8% on top of that?

Best question of all, how much extra "money" did the Fed print last year, and how much will they print in 2009? The more pieces of paper they throw around, the less each piece of paper is worth.
