This man will be in charge of the IRS!
Dear Sen. Feingold:
Soon this country will be taking a new direction. I will be cheering for a great four years under President Obama.
For things to improve, it is imperative that we get off to good start.
What I heard today about Tim Geithner does not give me a good feeling. This man will be in charge of the IRS; for him not to pay his self employment tax while working for the IMF is inexcusable and I urge you not to support his appointment.

I am OUTRAGED that this man is even being consideredfor Sec. of the Treasury!!! What gall he has to ignore paying his taxes for so many years then "get religion" just before he is nominated.
As a common taxpaper we recently got a "message from the IRS" saying that we owed something. They were correct on one item, it was an inadvertent error when my former employer gave me 2 W-2's - one for my pre-retirement salary [8 months] and one for my pension [4] months. To add insult to injury, they fined me over $1,000 for a "sloppy" return which is more than the taxes I owed. I'd overpaid until my oversight/error was brought to light. I seem to always overpay since I seem to have more withheld than necessary.
This tax evader apparently does not have to pay that type of penalty. He also was reimbursed by the IMS for his portion of the self-employment tax. He's a "double dipper" because he got back his portion. Shouldn't he claim that as income??
Am I being singled out because of my political affiliation? Probably not...it just seems that way!

Mr. Romenesko,
I don't get a good feeling about Mr. Geitner either. Did you note that he was reimbursed for his portion of his self-employment taxes? Troubling to say the least.
