Conservatives - where are ye?
Progressive majority is strutting their stuff, claiming 11 of 13 wins in elections last Tuesday.
This proves again that progressive values are winning values! From the cities of Kenosha, Racine and Beloit to Winnebago and Dane counties, progressive candidates won their spring elections.
We're really excited about changing not one, not two, but three school boards from conservative control to progressive control! I shared yesterday the story about Tia Johnson winning her seat on the Beloit School Board. Progressive Majority goes on to claim the elections there gave “progressives control of the Beloit School Board.” Also:
In Kenosha, all three of our school board candidates won and elected a progressive majority on the Kenosha School Board. Carl Bryan, who has been a Progressive Majority Farm Team member since he was a senior in high school, won his election by beating an incumbent. Pam Stevens and Mary Snyder also won there to secure the majority.
In Racine, Kim Plache beat an incumbent to win her election, and Gretchen Warner won her re-election, solidifying a progressive majority on the Racine School Board. The way they tell it, these are some impressive victories for Progressive Majority Wisconsin. Check out the candidates they claim as their farm team – are any lurking in your community?
So, chalk up three school boards and maintaining the County Exec. positions in Dane and Winnebago (!) County. I’m impressed.

COMMENTS
Eight years of atrophying in Bush's dark shadow have left the GOP rather like a tray of spindly-legged seedlings.
Even now, with all the socialist softballs Obama & Frank are lofting up, there's no farm team of authentic conservatives that are able to take the plate.
Even at the state level, what leader is there that hasn't been brought to heel by road builder or banking clan money? The best we can come up with is "get rid of the secretary of state?" [groan - Does no one there understand commercial transactions and what the SecState does?!? ]

Yes, I am ignorant...WHAT is a "farm team"? (MY "team" is 30 hens and a flock of sheep, ha ha).
Speaking of farming, EVEYONE should express outrage at the "food safety" bills, HR875 and S425. Drafted by Rosa De Lauro, who gets the most money from Big "Ag" of practically anyone in Congress, whose husband Stanley Greenburg has Monsanto as a client, it would make Michael Taylor, who works for Monsanto, the "food safety" czar. See a pattern?
The bill is worded loosely enough that it could even apply to private homes--after all, I "store" food in my pantry, and I "process" it when I do canning. And it would virtually outlaw seed cleaning and storage. (Monsanto doesn't want us to get or keep our own seeds.)
And, of course, "variances" will be available for those multinational "ag" companies to move livestock, produce, or meat, etc. across borders without inspection. But meanwhile, all the small farmers (the only responsible ones) will be saddled with endless paperwork, eartags, etc. And the bar will be set so high we won't be able to compete...which is the point of the bill.
Big "Ag" knows that small farms, sustainable farms, and organic farms are the fastest-growing and most profitable sector in agriculture today, and they want to crush us.

It's a baseball term Emily. A player will play on several farm teams to gain experience in the minor (and minor minor) leagues before moving up to the Big Show - the major leagues. The Timber Rattlers here are a farm team for the Brewers, for example. As Wikipedia says, "the term is also used as a metaphor for any organization or activity that serves as a training ground for higher-level endeavors."
Fun to talk about baseball - today is the Brewers home opener!

I see the "progressives" cannot even spell their own candidate's name right (K. Falk) ... reference the first link. Must be all that publik skooling for which they keep wanting more money.
