Schmuki: We the people will change the course of history

[Many in Wisconsin don’t take these guys seriously. And many who do take them seriously believe the time, energy and money for any “recall” of Governor Doyle ought to be directed at the 2010 campaign – ongoing now, but in full swing in another year. I say I like Vince’s passion – and I’ll post it for anyone to read it and think what they may about it. JE]

“We the people” – that is how it starts in the Constitution. We the people of the state of Wisconsin have done an amazing thing to date. We of our own resolve, without help from the human powers that be, have taken it upon ourselves, with a mighty collective will, to remove one very bad Governor from office. As a general rule, this just isn’t done ladies and gentlemen. Only two times in all of recorded political history has it been done. We will be the history making third time.

I guarantee that we not only have shaken the political world in Wisconsin but when it is known it will rock the political scene across this nation. We have shaken and scared not only our Governor but the princes under him. We will be the template by which other states will rise up to take control back. We will be upon the lips as the ones who dared to reach for the impossible and to achieve it. We will have dared to believe, once again, in we the people.

We the people of the state of Wisconsin, the average, the common, the ignored, the worker who toils to pay the bills, the moms and dads who dream the futures for their kids. We are the people who have been taken for granted for so long regardless of party. We have been used and abused by those human hands in power. But not today, because today, we are the people who have taken control. We are the people who will shake the destiny of the political world as it has been known for so long. And in its place we will shape a new destiny.

A true popular uprising is rare, but we the people today have made our voices known. We are that rarity. With the removal of James Doyle we will have forever changed the history of the political world. Think about this for a moment, let it sink in and realize just what it means. A tremendous power shift has taken place. The power and the freedom will be once again back in the hands of we the people. To stand up for ourselves and to declare, “we the people have spoken.”

This is the freedom that John Adams and the founding fathers fought for – the ability of future generations, for us, to declare “we the people.” This is why they were willing to lay down their very lives and why others today are still willing to make that same selfless sacrifice so that we can still be -we the people. We were to treasure this freedom and it is why we were expected to fight to carry it on as John Adams declared, "Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the pains to preserve it." So we shall “make good use of it” to honor those who died to give it to and those who died to keep it for us.

Enough of the corruption in our government. Enough of being used as economic slaves by those in power. Enough treating our young children and unborn children as chattel whose futures are mindlessly spent away. Enough! Because today we the people have spoken!

This will be recorded as the day the people, the everyday people stood up for themselves as in days long past and once again started to live as free men and women. Together, by this singular audacious act of recalling a governor, we will have changed the course of history!

OOps, a glitch...as I was saying, we can't wait for 2010 to come; we have to do something about this guy NOW. Just think what he'd do w-next year's budget!

"Time" is mentioned--what we choose to do w-our time is our business. (And it doesn't really take much time.) "Money"--HA! this is totally a grassroots effort; not much money involved at all, and no party leadership is taking us seriously...yet.

The Republicans among us, and the Democrats, believe we need other candidates more in touch with what Wisconsinites want. And we can't wait until 2010--how many more businesses would be lost from WI by then?
