A FP reader writes to Roger, Penny and Tom

Representatives Roger, Penny and Tom (Roth, Bernard Schaber and Nelson):

As I understand it, tomorrow (Thursday, June 11) the state legislature is voting on the Wisconsin state budget. There is still much ‘junk’ included in the budget - and many items are of great concern to me. One, in particular is the large increase to the already huge amount of money given to Planned Parenthood. You have probably been told the lie that says the budget will not give money for abortions but for other “health care areas.”

Get real, people! Certainly you understand that those dollars go to the same organization whose primary money maker is the abortion industry where babies are murdered each year.

Also included in the budget is a new program which offers benefits to "domestic partners." How inappropriate and ludicrous.

What are our politicians doing in Madison? The Wisconsin state deficit is over $6,500,000,000 (that’s in BILLIONs of dollars, folks). Do you think for even a minute that these programs (abortion industry and same-sex-partner benefits) are where your constituents want their tax dollars to go? Let me help you answer the question. NO !! DEFINITELY NOT!

I implore you to delete these add-ons from our budget. Do the right thing. Make a statement for moral values, family values and appropriate behaviors in this state.

At a recent listening session for Penny Bernard Schaber, many of us were told the state was making a five percent across the board cut in spending. When asked how that computed when all funds were included (including federal stimulus $s) the spending actually increases by 6.3% in spite of the huge deficit.

Again, I ask, “What are our politicians doing in Madison? Are you in tune with your constituents? More importantly, are you conscious of the Christian values that our nation was founded on? Please encourage your fellow legislators to stand up for these values; don’t allow further decay of the moral fabric of our state and nation.

Roger…I will guess that you will vote to delete such things from the budget. If so, thank you.

Penny…you are my representative. Where will you come down on these issues? I need to know. I will be watching how you vote. I will be listening not only to what you say, but watching what you do. Words and actions…that’s what it’s all about.

Tom…you are a legislative leader and your conservative district expects you to do the right thing.

As I understand it, below are the ‘particulars’ of the programs it’s important to delete from the budget.

    1. Family Planning Waiver Program: Provides free contraceptive products and services to your daughters, and soon to your sons, who are age 15 or older. They are told that you will not be contacted nor will the child support agency. You have no right to access any records or information about these activities without written permission from your child. Think of it as the state telling you they know best how to handle your child's delicate decision of if, when and how to become sexually active. To view an informational flyer on the program, including confidentiality assurances to these kids, click here. (Be sure to look at the last line on page 4 of the brochure.)

Naturally, a side benefit of the program will be to pour major cash into the coffers of Planned Parenthood.

    2. A fine up to $2500 per occurrence for pharacists not promptly providing "contraceptive" products, which those pharmacists, (for good reason) deem may be abortifacient. This is another frontal assault on what should be the inalienable right to conscience.

    3. Forcing insurance and health plans to cover contraceptive drugs and services.

Keep in mind that "reproductive health care" and contraceptives are not treatments for disease. Fertility and pregnancy are not diseases but states of good health. Rather, these are manipulations of the human body for convenience or to push a specific societal agenda.

This also equates to rewarding Planned Parenthood with plenty more of your hard-earned tax dollars, when the state is running a deficit!

Penny, Roger and Tom – Please share with your legislative colleagues that this isn’t the way we want our tax dollars spent in the Wisconsin State budget.

IT IS CRITICAL THE STATE BUDGET BILL NOT INCLUDE PLANNED PARENTHOOD’S LEGISLATIVE AGENDA! Don’t allow Planned Parenthood to hide their anti-family, anti-life agenda in the biennial budget bill !
