Is $500,000 still in state budget for Opera House?
You decide. Rep. Hintz needs $500,000 of your money for Oshkosh’s Opera House because it will create 85 to 100 jobs.
And from the Opera House Foundation’s executive director, Joseph Ferlo: “People hear ‘opera house’ and think one thing, but this is a regional arts and education center. We attract national touring acts. I think the project stands up to the scrutiny.”
85 to 100 jobs? Oshkosh Alderman Bob Poeschl gets it. “When you’re balancing out whether to pay for a historic building or neighborhood needs, the choice becomes clear.”

I have one that's even better...at a time when the budget includes language that changes the definition of farm land, thus forcing some farmers' taxes to go up by 2000%, there's enough taxpayer money to give CON-Agra $206,000 for some "infrastructure" project. As if they didn't have enough money to fund it themselves! As if the Big "Ag" companies' goals weren't to drive family farms out of business! Do we have "stupid" written on our foreheads?
