Planned Parenthood, Appleton: “It’s not really a baby…”

Appleton's Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic (3800 N. Gillett St.- a worn former ranch on a side street, actually in the Town of Grand Chute) is the subject of a video released yesterday morning. Reminiscent of recent ACORN undercover videos, Live Action gets Planned Parenthood on the record. It’s 6 minutes. Watch it.

Taped the end of September of this year, the video includes statements from former Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic Director Abby Johnson. Johnson, who on October 6, resigned her directorship of the clinic serving Texas A&M University, confirms what is seen and heard, plain as day, on the video.

Particularly abhorrent are Planned Parenthood’s revised medical definitions of “heart beat,” “fetus,” and “baby.” [via Live Action web site]
In the undercover video, when the two women ask a Planned Parenthood counselor if the pregnant woman's 10-week-old unborn child has a heartbeat, the counselor emphasizes "heart tones," and answers, "Heart beat is when the fetus is active in the uterus--can survive--which is about seventeen or eighteen weeks." On the contrary, embryologists agree that the heartbeat begins around 3 weeks. Wisconsin informed consent law requires that women receive medically accurate information before undergoing an abortion.

The counselor then says, "A fetus is what's in the uterus right now. That is not a baby." Dr. Prohaska, the abortion doctor, insists, "It's not a baby at this stage or anything like that." Prohaska also states that having an abortion will be "much safer than having a baby," warning, "You know, women die having babies."
Lila Rose, President of Live Action, is a phenom. The real deal. You can hear a good bit of her story in this address to the Family Research Council’s 2009 Values Voter Summit. Now 21 and a UCLA co-ed, Lila founded Live Action when she was 15. Amazing.

Live Action’s video is the first in what they call the "’Rose Acuna Project,’ a multi-state undercover audit documenting Planned Parenthood's abortion counseling.” The title scrolls across the screen as you begin to watch the video.

    Why Rose Acuna?

Here’s a complete discussion of her 2003 legal case. Very long, very detailed, lots of legal verbiage. The gist is in the first paragraph.
This is a medical malpractice, informed consent case. The gravamen of the complaint, filed by plaintiff Rosa Acuna individually, and in her capacity as Administratrix of the Estate of "Michael Doe," is that defendant Dr. Sheldon C. Turkish (defendant), a medical doctor specializing in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, failed to obtain an informed consent from plaintiff before terminating her pregnancy Specifically, plaintiff claimed that defendant "failed to inform her that [the fetus, Michael Doe], although a person unborn, was a complete, separate, unique and irreplaceable human being...."
So Live Action goes undercover in Appleton to expose to the world how Planned Parenthood “informs” young women about the lack of life they’re soon to remove. Wow. No lack of life in the work of Live Action. Maybe even life-changing for you….

What does she mean "it's not really a baby. Of course it is!!!! Life BEGINS at conception. It may be convenient for some to think that these clusters of cells are nothing more than an unwanted "cyst" but they are not, they are the beginning to a human being. It is so sad that people who become pregnant and don't want the child will abort rather than give birth and give that child the GIFT to some couple who cannot have children, LOVE and sustain it.

Just so I may still cling to my liberal credentials and still oppose abortions (which I do), I concocted the argument that antiabortionism is a human rights issue -- the right of the unborn child to be born.

I support the human rights of the child to be born in all cases except when the life of the mother is threatened -- no other exceptions. If that's not a liberal issue, nothing is.

I wasn't always that way, but I was paid a visit in the mid-1970s by Jesus or Someone who told me in no uncertain terms that a fetus is a baby. Period. End of argument.

Seem I read recently that it has been proven that the brain starts functioning at 8 or 10 weeks. They can hear things outside like the mothers voice and react to sounds, they begin sucking their thumbs and the heart is working. Arms and legs moving! But not a human? Get a life! All for a buck! And you want our government to pay for these horrendous actions. Obama does in private, but says otherwise in public. Would he be a politican? Most other liberals want us to pay for it. God help them!

Well, Bob, guess you need to get a copy of a dictionary ~ an elementary school one for YOU would do so you could understand it ~ and read what the definition of fetus is. If you can't read, maybe you could get a kid to read and interpret it for you.
