Savard speaking in Appleton, 8 PM, Wed., Jan. 13.
The conservative, gritty guys at "The Garage Group" are hosting 8th Congressional District GOP candidate Marc Savard for an informal question and answer discussion session tonight, Wednesday, January 13 at 8 p.m. The gathering place is a dining room in the Old Bavarian, 3025 W. College Ave., Appleton.
(Go early and have dinner - the food and beer are great - German fare, as you'd guess.)
Close up and personal, these gatherings are the old-fashioned way to get to know a candidate. Savard is cerebral, knows his stuff. You won't get much rah rah from this guy, but he's certain of what he believes, is an entrepreneur from as far back as high school days and is worried to death about his country. Jo, I have heard this guy several times..he was the first to jump in this race. That he purports to be conservative is true. He may just be a little over the top conservative. He has stated he would actually start his own party if he had the cash. I do not believe he is a viable candidate for this Congressional seat. He is a little too "laid back" to me. Just my humble opinion. However, if my I was available on Wednesday, I would join the "garage guys". Perhaps the "garage guys" would entertain Ribble and Roth at one of these "nuts and bolts" sessions. Up close and personal.
