Big Winneconne Tea Party Sunday – and much more coming up
Ethan Hollenberger, college student, organizer and experienced campaigner and tea partyer says all are invited to Sunday’s Winneconne Tea Party – for freedom from BIG government – “Democrats, Republicans. White-Collar workers. Blue-Collar workers.” Joe the Plumber will be there. Other confirmed speakers include Pat Snyder, Wausau radio talk show host; Jake Jacobs, dynamite speaker, history teacher and history buff; John McAdams, Marquette Political Science Prof and blogger; and Pastor David King, the Milwaukee God Squad and candidate for Secretary of State (puttin’ himself out there!)
Sunday, July 11, 3 – 4:30 PM Winneconne’s Waterfront Park, South First Street
Monday, July 12, JOSHUA forum on Stimulus $s, Green Bay “Community organizing” group, JOSHUA wants to look at the $259 million in stimulus funding received by Brown County and ask “where did it go?”
"This will be a nonpolitical forum," [community volunteer Barbara] McClure-Lukens said. "We were going to hold it in the fall, but we didn't want this to become a campaign issue." The forum will include presentations from Brown County Executive Tom Hinz, Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Green Bay School Board President Jean Marsch. Each will explain how the stimulus money was used. Eric Ness, the Wisconsin district director of the Small Business Administration, also will speak at the forum.
A question-and-answer session will follow, and a video on the stimulus money's impact here will be shown.
Should be an interesting session – interesting to attend just to assess whether or not it’s “nonpolitical.”
Monday, July 12, 10:30 AM Neville Public Museum, 210 Museum Place, Green Bay
Monday, July 12, Scott Walker in DePere Republican Candidate for Governor Scott Walker will be in DePere Monday July 12 for a fundraiser at Harry Macco's farm. By all accounts, Harry's farm is a family oriented venue with paddleboats, fishing access, waterslides and many other outdoor activities. Sounds like great fun – picnic included – for $50 per family.
Monday, July 12, 5:00 – 8:00 PM Harry Macco's Farm, 4144 Highway W, DePere Contact Alex at the Walker headquarters if need additional information.
Tuesday, July 13, N.E.W. Patriots, Morrison The N.E.W. Patriots, a local, grassroots organization, will be hosting a Question and Answer Forum with two candidates for the 8th U.S. Congressional District. These candidates are Andy Williams (R) and Joseph Stern (I). It’s my understanding Andy may not be continuing his candidacy, and/or changing to run as an independent. Hopefully he’ll let the crowd know Tuesday night. And a crowd it usually is – 50 to 75 usually show up for NEW Patriots meetings out in the middle of Brown County. The public is invited and questions are encouraged. Great pizza, burgers and beer available from the bar if you’d like to sup while you take it all in.
Not to be missed is the N.E.W. Patriots' Town Crier, who will entertain with "A Taxpayer's Lament." Garbed in Revolutionary (!) attire, Ron’s presentations are truly inspiring. Really!
Tuesday, July 13th, 7:00 - 9:00 PM Evergreen Bar and Grill, 7075 Morrison Rd, Greenleaf/Morrisson Food is available for purchase.
Wednesday, July 14, Pints ‘n Politics, Appleton Fun time for Republicans to strategize, politick and arm twist. Informally sponsored by the Outagamie County Republican Women and the Outagamie County Republican Party. Show up anytime during the evening and there’s sure to be several great discussions happening.
Wednesday, July 14, 5:30 – 8:00 PM Cheyenne’s Bar and Grill, 124 N. Appleton St., Appleton
Wednesday, July 14, Rob Taylor in Appleton “The Group” meets once a month in Appleton on the second Wednesday of every month. This month, Constitution Party of Wisconsin U.S. Senate candidate Robert Taylor will be speaking. Rob is said to be a fantastic speaker “who will grab you and knows his constitution!”
Wednesday, July 14, 8:00 – 9:30 PM Old Bavarian Restaurant (great Friday fish fries), 3025 W. College Ave., Appleton
Thursday, July 15, Dave Westlake and Rebecca Kleefisch in Appleton Hosted by the Outagamie County Republican Women, U.S. Senate candidate in the Republican Primary, Dave Westlake will speak and be available for questions as long as folks have them. Rebecca Kleefish, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Republican Primary, will also be there with her dynamic presentation. The setting is very informal – it’s a great way to meet the candidates, up close and personal.
Thursday, July 14, 6:00 – 7:00 PM Appleton Yacht Club, 1200 S. Lutz Drive, Appleton
Friday, July 16, Newt Gingrich in Wausau with Sean Duffy 9:30 AM (program at 10) The Rose Garden, 131 W. Thomas St., Wausau $25; RSVP by calling 715-298-9171 or by going to www.duffyforcongress.com

JO:
Thanks for the update on upcoming events. Sometimes it is difficult to keep up with the candidates and their schedules. You probably should put this out weekly as it will be a busy political season and it would be great service to know what is happening each week in one e-mail.

Also, thanks for the event calendar. I would add that the Outagamie County Republican Party is having a Grand Opening of the Campaign Office on Saturday, July 10, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The office is located at 609A West College Avenue....next to what used to be the Tastee Bakery. Food, door prizes and candidates. Please stop by to pick up you favorite candidate's literature and perhaps "bump" into one of them.

Hi Jo, There was a stimulous explanation meeting in Oshkosh on May 20th. One of the sponsors was ESTHER. I attended and did not think of it as political but rather informational. I suppose if you oppose any and all projects funded by the stimulous, it would become political for you. Here are some facts and links:1. The entire May 20 community presentation is on Channel 10’s website: 2. A three-minute video starring Citizens for a Strong Oshkosh (CSO) member Tom Willadsen, on location at projects throughout Oshkosh, called Stimulus Funds in Oshkosh: Kathy Propp has a copy of the May 20 power point presentation for anyone interested. The total Winnebago County stimulus funds received were $214 million, broken down into tax relief 20%, assistance to individuals and families 17%, small business support 16%, education 13%, transportation 18% and other public structures 16%. Winnebago County, the City of Oshkosh, and the Oshkosh Area School District all received a portion.
