57th A.D. and 5th A.D. Issue Seminar – this Friday!
Yup, FIVE WEEKS to the election - are you doing your part? How many calls have you made this week for your favorite candidate? How many doors have you knocked on? Do you have a sign in your yard? Or several signs? Your friend with a home on a busy street – do they have Walker/Johnson/Ribble/Hanson or Lasee or Steineke or ??? signs in their yards?
Today. States’ Rights v. Federal Expansion Tuesday, September 28 12 noon to 1:00 PM The Machine Shed Restaurant, 220 N. Fox River Dr., Appleton (Exit Hwy 41 at College Ave., west 1 block to Mall Drive, turn right; ½ block to first right on Fox River Drive.) Hosted by the Fox Valley Conservative Forum. No cost to attend. Menu ranges from $6 to $9. The second presentation in a series on the powers contained in States’ rights to counter alarming Federal expansion, this talk addresses state nullification of ObamaCare. State nullification of unconstitutional federal laws is founded primarily on the Constitution’s Tenth Amendment as expounded by Jefferson and Madison in 1798. Expert Larry Greenley will share a PowerPoint on state nullification, its application by states in the past, and today’s strategy for state nullification of ObamaCare in Wisconsin and other states.
McGinnis Courtroom Briefing Thursday, September 30 12 noon – 1:00 Outagamie County Courthouse, Circuit Court Branch 1 (Courtroom E) Outagamie County Judge Mark McGinnis will host his monthly meeting, designed to inform the public about the criminal justice system – up close and personal. Attendees are invited to bring a lunch and to stay and observe cases through the afternoon if desired. Registration is preferred but not necessary, 920-832-5152.
Hanson/Bernard Schaber and Steineke/Summers – Assembly Candidate Forum Friday, October 1 7:30 – 9:30 AM Lower Level, Citizens Bank, 205 E. Reservations are appreciated but not required, and can be made by calling 920-766-1616 or going online at www.heartofthevalleychamber.com. Perfect chance to meet the candidates, understand why they’re running and hone in on how they will vote on key issues. Candidates from the 57th and 5th Assembly Districts will be asked the following questions and will also take questions from the floor.
- Success in job creation in Wisconsin can only be achieved by improvement in the business climate. What SPECIFICALLY would you do to achieve this?
- The projected State deficit going into the next budget cycle will be over $2 billion. Realizing that there will probably not be one time funds (Stimulus, Tobacco, Transportation Funds) available, what specific cuts in spending do you support and why?
- Special Interest groups and Lobbyists have had a growing influence on the Wisconsin Budgetary process as they seek tax dollars for their constituencies.Would you support legislation that would constitutionally reduce the influence these groups have on the budgetary process?
- Would you support legislation mandating a return to the original intent of the Wisconsin Retirement System and the mandating of contributions by ALL Employees covered under the Wisconsin Retirement System? If not, how would you reduce this annual increased burden to the taxpayer?
- What is your position on the High Speed Rail System?
