    A new world

I’m exhausted – thrilled with the work of campaigning, running on the joy of it all. I have only spare seconds to share comments; readying FoxPol News and must be at my polling place by 6:30. Eeek.

Of course, VOTE. Vote conservative. Vote Republican. And think about, savor the change you are bringing.

The other day tears poured down my face driving to a campaign stop. Just plain joy I think – yeah, mixed with no sleep. I’m in awe of this great democracy of ours and on the ceiling with anticipation. Alternatively frozen with fear of what Republicans must accomplish with any new found power and shaking with hope for the future.

Yes, 1994 was a thrill. We knew where we were supposed to be going after the confetti of election night. But more than 1994, this is 1980 for me. The thrill of a truly conservative president. The awe of the Detroit presidential convention. Walking on air in D.C. after the election – I could feel the difference in both my bones and my being. What an awesome time.

For now, we must settle for a conservative House, a conservative chairing the powerful Budget Committee. And a few feisty conservative Senators.

I want it to be November 3; I want the work to be over so I can catch up on the ironing, the bills and actually cook a nice meal. But mostly, I want the apprehension and excitement to settle down for just one day – gathering the energy to move forward in what indeed will be a new world.

    I just can’t wait.

Good for you Jo. Your excitement, enthusiasm and all the other emotions you mentioned are bubbling out of a true blue American. Congratulations on your efforts, and incredible work and knowledge. We appreciate you more than you know. Enjoy this day. Rest tomorrow, and take a breath of fresh air.

    Jo,
I wish we still had you out here in California, with your strength, energy, and tremendous drive to achieve what is right and good. It's been a fight out here, as well, to get positive change in the RIGHT direction. We'll see what today's election brings. Good work, Jo!!

I cannot think of another person that has worked harder and smarter than you in this election. You have put in more time and effort not only on one campaign but several! Whether known or unknown to other folks, you have gone way beyond making calls, distributing literature; but have shared your valuable experience, organizational skills and hosted, either public or behind the scenes help, with fundraisers. You have put your blood and tears into each campaign, without any personal gain. So, when the ballots are all counted and delivered to the clerk's office, hopefully you will be able to attend some of the victory parties and have some FUN. And finally, after this long evening, sleep well knowing that you did ALL you could do to help these candidates to celebrate victory.

My condolances to the R's. Now they will actually have to do something and be responsible for it....Lot harder than just saying NO.
