    Big Conservative Bash

This is thrilling. 1600 conservatives gathered with one purpose - restore America's prosperity via freedom for the individual, lower taxes, less regulation, smaller government, NO EARMARKS. Instead of cheesehead hats, we see folks wearing pighead and pigsnout hats. Quite the scene.

    Snippets
Giuliani speaking to the troops: Freedom works. Of the top three Dem candidates, who has run a city, a state, a business? NONE. Giuliani gave us results.
The Hillary Bond - $5,000 to each child born. Maybe she'll make it retroactive... Funny that McGovern made the same proposal - give $1,000 to each child - adjusted for inflation, that's $4,820. Hmmm. Bad socialist ideas never die.
Even France is considering lowering taxes - the ONLY place is the U.S.A.[Giuliani says he has to check on this -hmmm - he hasn't been to Wisconsin.]

    Giuliani's program:
    1. Don't reverse tax cuts.
    2. Adjust AMT for inflation.
    3. Encourage new HSA's, TSA's.
    4. Give the death tax the death penalty.
    5. Make a one page tax return an option.

    Giuliani quips on health care:
"When our health care becomes socialized under Hillary Clinton, where will the Canadians go for their health care? Michael Moore will be ok, he'll go to Cuba."

    Vicki McKenna:
Interviewing John Stossel for her live WISN show (we're all set up in the media room). It took Stossel a while, but he came around [got to run to hear Fred Thompson - too much going on. More on Thompson later.] Before Stosssel it was Sam Brownback. Then Leah Vukmir. She'll keep going, live from D.C. on Madison's WIBA this afternoon for three hours, countless technical difficulties and all. Wow. Fun.

Less government; lower taxes. Remember Tommy Thompson. We may never crawl out from his misadministration.

Guilani puts money he can earn speaking on the circuit ahead of his pledge to serve the public. How many marriages? Health care? Would Guilani pay $2400 for a colonoscopy is he didn't have health insurance? Jo, would you or your family?
I agree with you about the spending of the Thompson years.
Absolutely I would pay for a colonoscopy if I didn't have health insurance. Or more accurately, when I had catastrophic health insurance, which is what insurance is supposed to be. Who do you think is paying for it now? HEALTH CARE IS NOT FREE. Though I may not pay $2,400; I would research it and of course, pay less if some clinic was performing a quality procedure at lower cost. Which is the name of the game in health care - consumers becoming more informed, active health care purchasers.
Why should middle income earners, for example (like yourself, I imagine), set aside annual budget dollars for entertainment or travel or clothing, before they set aside a budget for health care and health insurance? JE
